Double Exposure
What images did you select for your double exposure?
I selected portrait number five and a photo I took of a sunset for my double exposure assignment.
How do the objects relate compositionally?
The vibrant colors of the sky makes the photo look mysterious and the deep purple clouds contrast with her right eye, making it the focal point of the picture.
How did you manipulate and modify each image?
To make the images relate compositionally, I intentionally moved the picture of the sunset so that her right eye would stand out in the picture. I always decreased the opacity of the portrait to combine both images.
What steps did you take to merge layers to create a unified image?
To merge layers I opened both photos in separate windows. I then moved the black and white portrait over the colorful sunset so that my final image would have some color. Next, I played around with the positioning of each picture to create a focal point. I also added a filter and decreased the opacity of the portrait.
